On January 1st 2024 the SEEDS project started. SEEDS aims to develop “Cost-effective and replicable Renewable Energy Sources integrated electrified heating and cooling systems for improved energy efficiency and demand response”. Builtwins participates in this project together with Belgian partners Sweco, KU Leuven, Mintus and Daikin to renovate and optimally control two clusters of buildings using a district heating network in the city of Bruges.

The SEEDS project is co-funded by the European Commission and aims to boost the electrification of thermal systems in buildings through an integrated approach leveraging energy efficient renovation and smartification of HVAC systems.
