WZC De Zon is a modern care home owned by the city of Kortrijk. Its sustainable HVAC system consists of geothermal heat pumps in combination of concrete core activation and radiators. A gas boiler can assist the heat pumps but is not used for this purpose since MPC controls the building. Cooling is provided by a heat exchanger connected to the borefield and it can be assisted by a compression cooling machine.
